I’m Jen Winkler, a Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach based in Phoenix, Arizona.

I work with women who are struggling with insulin resistance, blood sugar crashes, gut issues, abnormal cycles, PCOS, PMS, thyroid concerns, and weight-loss stalls—especially after years of dieting, restriction, or being told their labs are “normal.”
My role is to help you cut through the noise of the wellness world and figure out what actually works for your body, your health history, and your real life—without extremes or confusion.
My (shortened) Healing Journey
I’ve lived with epilepsy since I was 12 years old. Years later, I also developed insulin resistance along with symptoms of PMS and PCOS, though I wasn’t formally diagnosed until my late 20s. Anxiety, inflammation, poor sleep, and constant energy crashes became part of daily life.
In my late 30s, after giving birth to my son and gaining over 80 pounds, I was exhausted and relying on multiple medications just to function. The side effects were heavy, and I knew something deeper was being missed.
That’s when I began studying nutrition, blood sugar regulation, and metabolic health. I discovered therapeutic ketogenic nutrition and implemented it under medical supervision. Within months, I was sleeping through the night, my anxiety and panic attacks lifted, my blood sugar stabilized, and my cycles normalized. Over time, I lost 80 pounds and more than 40 inches.
Most importantly, I was able to come off the majority of my epilepsy medications and finally had the energy to be fully present in my life and motherhood.
As my health improved, my approach evolved. I learned that healing isn’t about staying rigid forever. I now focus on metabolic flexibility—supporting the body’s ability to use both fat and glucose appropriately—so hormones, energy, and metabolism stay resilient long term.
That experience is the foundation of how I now help women who feel stuck, dismissed, or exhausted by extremes.
Why did Jen become a health coach?
After finally finding real solutions to my own lifelong health struggles, I discovered a deeper purpose. I became obsessed with understanding why certain foods and habits helped my body heal—and why others worked against it. That curiosity pulled me into the science of nutrition, blood sugar regulation, hormones, metabolism, and gut health.
What I learned was eye-opening. Much of the conventional advice I had followed for years didn’t align with what the science actually showed—especially for women. Even more frustrating? Being told my labs were “normal” while my body clearly wasn’t. That’s when I realized women don’t need more guessing—they need better data and better context.
Today, I use functional lab testing alongside my coaching to help uncover root causes instead of chasing symptoms or hopping from plan to plan. When you work with me, there are no rigid rules or one-size-fits-all protocols. We work together, adjust as your body responds, and build a sustainable strategy that fits your life.
My role as your coach is to guide, educate, and support you with clarity—so you can stop feeling confused or dismissed and start trusting your body again.
Jen’s passions and hobbies
I love strength training and building what I call the organ of longevity—muscle. There’s always a health book on my desk and a podcast queued up on my phone.
I’m half Portuguese, and music is one of the fastest ways to my heart. My faith in Christ is central to who I am and infiltrates everything I do.
I’ve been married to my husband, Jeff, for 10 years. We have a 9-year-old son, a pug named Iggy, and I’m also a foster mom—an experience that has stretched my heart and deepened my compassion in ways I never expected.
